As well as publishing books ourselves, Pendragon Publishing & Design provides Assisted Publishing services. This may be a suitable option if we are unable to take your title on an outright publication basis ourselves, you have been unable to secure an alternate traditional publisher or simply prefer to produce your title yourself. Our Assisted Publishing arm offers authors all the help they need to produce their own works. We have the expertise to produce your book from design to delivery stage and can help make the self-publishing process as smooth as possible. Our Assisted Publishing packages include:
- Design, production and retail pricing advice including format and paper quality
- ISBN, barcode and CIP application
- Professional editing, indexing and proofreading
- Professional design and layout
- Print production management
- Marketing advice, including compulsory lodgement requirements.
Optional extras we offer include producing marketing collateral such as promotional posters and fliers and the creation of an author or publication website, complete with online sales capabilities.
Timeframes: publishing a book is a very time consuming process and depends greatly on the state of readiness and size and complexity of the manuscript. Manuscripts can take dozens of hours of editing, followed by dozens more in designing and laying out the text and cover and preparing the files for proofing and printing. Book production can take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years with a range of variables.
