From West Berlin to the remote reaches of the Birdsville Track, Kim Young has traversed it all, in the company of others or bravely solo – usually on two wheels or two feet, and accompanied by his keen interest in a challenge and his talent for sketching.

Birdsville & Back will transport you through time and landscape to the European countryside, the harsh Australian Outback and even to the heights of New Zealand’s South Island – from the 1950s to the present.

You will be left with an insight into one man’s sense of adventure and passion for the diversity of our natural and built world and an appreciation for how far society – and technology – has progressed in the past seven decades.
